Sound Bath Information, Comfort & Booking Terms
Welcome! Please take a moment to read this practical guide and health notice before completing your booking.
1. Arrival, Comfort & What to Bring
Your comfort is the most important part of the experience. Sessions take place lying down on the floor, but you are welcome to position yourself in whatever way feels best for your body:
- Arrival Time: Please arrive 5–10 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you plenty of time to take off your coat, find your space, and settle in comfortably before we begin.
- What to bring: A yoga mat or camping mat to lie on, a warm blanket, a pillow/cushion for your head, a bottle of water, and an optional eye mask if you like to block out light.
- Prefer not to lie flat? If lying on the floor isn’t comfortable for your back or joints, you are very welcome to bring a folding reclining chair (such as a zero-gravity garden chair) or extra cushions to support your knees and back.
- Clothing: Wear soft, warm, layered clothing, as your body temperature naturally drops during deep relaxation.
2. Health & Suitability Guidelines
Sound baths are gentle, acoustic experiences where instruments are played around the room (no instruments are placed directly onto your body).
A. Direct Contraindications (Please contact Peter before booking):
Because acoustic resonance and deep relaxation can trigger physical or psychological responses, sound baths are generally not suitable—or require express medical clearance—if you have:
- First 12 weeks of pregnancy
- Epilepsy or a history of sound/light-induced seizures
- Severe unmanaged mental health conditions or psychosis
B. Advisory Cautions (Consult your doctor if unsure):
If you have any of the following, acoustic sound therapy is generally safe, but we advise consulting your healthcare provider if you have any personal concerns:
- Severe heart conditions, pacemakers, or deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
- Severe tinnitus or hyperacusis
- Recent major surgeries or medical implants
If you are unsure whether a sound bath is suitable for you, please email Peter in confidence at peter@peterisontherapies.co.uk before booking.
3. Creating a Peaceful Space
To help everyone unwind and enjoy deep rest:
- Feel free to shift your position, roll onto your side, or adjust your blankets whenever you need to stay comfortable.
- If you need any assistance from Peter during the session, simply raise your hand and he will quietly come to help you.
- Peter Ison Therapies reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone who appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
5. 48-Hour Cancellation & Transfer Policy
- All tickets are non-refundable.
- Ticket transfers to another person or a future event date are permitted up to 48 hours prior to the event start time.
- Cancellations within 48 hours or non-attendance on the day are non-refundable and non-transferable due to fixed venue capacity limits.
